Abstract
The article presents the personal reflections of Marie-Joie Brady, a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. Brady discusses her perspectives on the issues surrounding French language immersion in Canadian education. According to the article, some parents see immersion programs as a way to improve the parent student ratio for their children and these programs may not lead to a bilingual nation. Brady also describes how French immersion schools across Canada have developed since the 1970's, and how they might develop in the future.
