Abstract
Non-publié.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the current teaching practices of secondary teachers in Alberta's Francophone schools, who incorporate the teaching of the world 'Francophonie' into their practice. Questionnaires were administered to secondary school teachers of French, Social Studies and Religious Studies programs as well as to their principals. Interviews conducted with teachers and program developers at Alberta Learning confirm the interest Alberta educators have towards the study of the world 'Francophonie ' in a minority setting. From a Global Education perspective, we suggest that the study of the world 'Francophonie' in Francophone schools will facilitate students in becoming responsible citizens in a democratic, pluralist and global society.
