Abstract
Within the framework of R. Kaufman's concept of needs in education, the authors have attempted to evaluate the needs of teacher training for those intending to teach French, mother tongue, at the secondary level in Ontario. The results of this survey suggest that during the year training period, one must stress learnings of a linguistic and cultural nature—specifically regarding the sensitivity or consciousness of the student-teacher toward the francophone element in Ontario.
