Guest-edited by Éric Forgues, Patrick Donovan, Érik Labelle Eastaugh and Lorraine O’Donnell

The articles presented in this issue stem from the symposium entitled “50 Years of Implementing the Official Languages Act: Review and Prospects”, which took place during the 87 th congress of the Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas) in 2019. This symposium was an occasion to take stock of the evolution of the official languages question within its Canadian political context. To follow the evolution of the Act and its implemen- tation is to follow the evolution of the various discourses, debates, dialogues and reflections
surrounding this issue in Canada.
